Robert Lowes   September 19, 2010 — Preliminary epidemiological evidence suggests that the diabetic medication pioglitazone (Actos; Takeda Pharmaceutical) may be linked to a higher risk for bladder cancer, a possible relationship that warrants further study, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) said on September 17.
