(NaturalNews) In case you missed it, Robert Scott Bell on his show today held an exclusive interview with Dr. Nicholas Gonzalez, a medical doctor who over the years has helped cure thousands of people of serious diseases like cancer. In it, Gonzalez discusses his recently-aired interview on NBC Dateline, and how the show tried unsuccessfully to make him, Suzanne Somers, and Dr. Stanislaw Burzynski — all defenders of the freedom to choose natural therapies, appear as quacks, even though their work continues to help countless people around the world break free from the chains drugs and surgery.

Both Gonzalez and Somers have been fighting the medical powers-that-be for many years, and have chosen to do so because they actually believe in what they are doing and they know that it works. Their work is not about money, because in all honesty, there is very little money to be made in natural medicine (as an NBC investigation into Gonzalez’ tax records clearly proved, but that was never mentioned on Dateline).

Nevertheless, picking and choosing their battles wisely, the two decided that it was best to take on the Dateline challenge, recognizing that, while the show’s approach towards alternative cancer treatments was obviously going to be negative, hostile, and clearly biased, the fact that the show even decided to engage the subject at all speaks volumes about its growing popularity.

“The fact that we actually provoked them, forced them, made them consider us … they have to actually address us, even if they attack us,” said Gonzalez, pointing out that by even talking about the issue, it brings the important subject to the forefront of mainstream thought.

Gonzalez says he spent thousands of hours engaging with NBC, the producer of the Dateline show, and the network’s journalists, explaining in detail what he does, as well as the science behind it all.

“They interviewed six of my very successful patients, all appropriately diagnosed, long-term survivors, enthusiastic about the therapy,” he said. “I sent them thousands of pages of documents, documenting the effectiveness of my program, the effectiveness of pancreatic enzymes … even the effectiveness from the medical literature of coffee enemas.”

And how did the show decide to handle this information? It went after one aspect of Gonzalez’ work — a hair testing method — and accused it being fraudulent, leaving out many of the details of his therapies and their actual documented successes. They also conveniently ignored the fact that Gonzalez is a highly-educated doctor who was trained to do bone marrow transplants, and whose fellowship in cancer immunology took place under the esteemed Robert Good, former president of Sloan Kettering, the most published author in the history of medicine.

Still, Gonzalez came out as the real winner in the Dateline interview, as he conducted himself in a manner befitting of an astute, informed doctor with years of success under his belt. What was intended to be a hit piece ended up actually shining more light on the field of natural medicine, particularly natural cancer therapies like Gonzalez’ that have an impressive track record of incredible success.
