How do you eat your chia seeds?

Keep in mind that these little miracle workers are packed full of a number of valuable vitamins and minerals that you need in a daily supply. These seeds are a solid source of:

  • Protein
  • Fiber
  • Calcium
  • Fat
  • Magnesium
  • Zinc
  • Manganese
  • Phosphorous & more!

Despite all of these healthy nutrients, it can still remain a challenge to make these seeds a part of our everyday routines. But that doesn’t have to be the case!

Here are 4 creative ways to bring chia seeds into your diet:

1. Raspberry-Coconut Chia Popsicles

Using a mason jar for this one tends to work pretty well. Just dump 3-3.5 tablespoons of chia seeds into the jar, and drown them with about 12 ounces of coconut milk (never a bad idea to bring in some alternatives to dairy). Shake the jar well, and add ¾ a cup of raspberries and about 1 tablespoon of sugar into the mix, and let it sit for about two hours after stirring.

Once that’s complete, you can pour the mix into a popsicle mold and they’ll be ready in the morning!

2. Raspberry-Chia Lemonade

No sense on skipping out on a raspberry-chia combination just because I already added one – they just go really well together. Mix the following ingredients into a pitcher:

  • 4 cups of coconut water
  • 1 lemon (only need the juice)
  • 4 teaspoons of coconut sugar
  • 1.5 cups of blended raspberries
  • 6 tablespoons of chia seeds

After you mix it, you’ll notice that it forms a type of gel-like consistency. No worries, it’ll be delicious. Drink up & enjoy!

3. Kiwi-Pomegranate Chia Pudding

Add 3 tablespoons of chia seeds into a mason jar and follow it with about 12 ounces of almond milk. Shake the jar until it’s well mixed, then finish it off with 1 teaspoon of coconut sugar. At this point, you can really add it to whatever fruits you want (but I do honestly recommend kiwi and pomegranate seeds).

4. Chia Smoothie with Matcha

Add the following ingredients into a blender:

  • 12 ounces almond milk
  • 2 pitted dates
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 1 teaspoon of matcha (green tea powder)
  • 1 small pinch of vanilla bean

After blending these together, pour it into a mason jar and mix in 1 tablespoon of chia seeds. Shake well, let it sit for 15-20 minutes, and serve over ice. This is one of the best drink mixes out there to get a natural boost of energy that doesn’t leave you with an uncomfortable crash.

Remember, chia seeds are packed full of valuable vitamins and minerals that you need to stay functional throughout the day. The antioxidants and omega-3s that they provide also keep your body in good shape, contributing to the maintenance of your overall health so that you can fight off illnesses and internal damage.
