To: Patients and Friends of the Center for Advanced Medicine and Clinical Research
Regarding: August 14, 2010 Update - We are moving to a new location!
First and foremost, my staff and I have been tremendously blessed with many incredible advantages, gifts and privileges for which I am eternally grateful. I’m also very grateful and thank each of you for being so supportive of us and keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.
As most of you know, the victory over the North Carolina Medical Board (NCMB) after 3 years of battling and after 5 years of harassment finally ended in March 2010 (Read More About That Here). But that victory came at a significant price. In 2008, after having battled the NCMB for over a year and with added issues with the destabilizing economy and the media slander resulting from the false allegations against me by the NCMB, there was no money left for us to continue operating as we had been.
By late 2008, I was forced to begin relying on my financial reserves. By mid 2009, even those financial reserves were exhausted. I had to choose either to defend my name, my clinic’s reputation and the right of my patients to the type of care we provide or instead, preserve my finances and defend my assets. It was an easy decision which took about 6 seconds to make.
As you know, I chose to fight to defend my name, the clinic and the ability to continue doing the right thing for my patients. But the price was the inevitable loss of my office. On May 11, 2010, my office was foreclosed on due to inability to pay the mortgage. The bank unfortunately was not willing to work with us and so, the inevitable took place.
We will be moving our office and practice to our new location off of exit 28, in Cornelius over the weekend of September 24, 2010. Contact numbers, fax numbers, all websites and all email addresses will all be unchanged. The new address of the practice will be:
Center for Advanced Medicine and Clinical Research
19620 West Catawba Avenue, Suite 100, Cornelius, NC 28031
Everything will be conducted as scheduled with no disruption in scheduled treatments. The clinic will be open on Friday, September 24, 2010 for our normal half day schedule and this will be the last day we will have clinical services provided at our existing office. Beginning Monday, September 27, 2010, full clinical services will resume at the new location.
I apologize for any inconvenience any of this may cause any of you. We are committed to make the transition as smooth as possible for all patients. I also don’t want anyone to feel sorry or disappointed for us. All is, as it was meant to be. If I had to do it all over again, I would do it exactly the same way again. I am also extremely grateful for all the wonderful people who surround us on a daily basis and who provide us with a reminder as to why it was so imperative for us to have fought for the truth.
Some patients and friends who have been aware of this situation have asked how they can help. I would only ask that you continue to remember us in your prayers and keep us in your positive intentions. And also, please recommend the book (www.The9Steps.com) to those you love and care about. Please stop by and visit us at the new office. I am excited for what the future holds.
Hoping this letter finds you in the best of health and spirits,
Rashid A. Buttar, DO, FAAPM, FACAM, FAAIM
Medical Director, Center for Advanced Medicine and Clinical Research
